Inspections of flare stack
Full inspection with video and data on:
1. Main stack body
- To determine the actual status of the main pipe, the wall thickness is being measured at 20 cm x 20 cm locations all around the pipe by ultrasound thickness measurement
- The coating layer and condition are being checked
- Bolts and nuts are being checked
- The inside of the main pipe status is being checked for any damage
- The vertical position of the stack pipe is being checked
2. Flare stack piping works
- The main piping status is being checked for fitting and condition of:
- bolts and nuts
- insulation
- welding locations
- supports
- expansion slots
- flange joints
- The main steam pipe’s thickness is being checked by ultrasound measurements 360°
- Checking pipes for coating layer conditions
- Checking that all fitted pipes run parallel to the main stack pipe
3. Top parts, including stairway
- Tip body
- Pilots
- Ignitors
- Check the gangway around the tip on corrosion and mechanical damage
- Checking of all piping, supports, bolts and nuts for corrosion and mechanical damage
- Checking the stairway from bottom to top including supports
- Checking of the coating layer
- Checking of the wiring of the thermocouples
4. Inspection and tensioning of guy wires
- Checking of the status of all equipment, parts and peripherals
- Damage has to be checked and reported combined with the status of safety when in use
- All situations regarded as not safe for operation within the next 4 years are to be reported immediately to the inspection department
