Renewing, dismantling and rebuilding of a flare stack may cause a shutdown for a longer period of time, with all unwished-for negative economical consequences.

FG International Holland BV offers a solution for this problem in the form of the FG Retractable Flare Refurbishment Program, whereby generally speaking, the flare stack remains operational during the process of replacing the entire steel structure, part by part.

The crew replacing the steel structure is protected from the flare flames by the FG Hydroshield Protection System.
The only moment the flaring operations are put to a stop is when the crews have to work at the very top platform of the stack, for replacement activities. This down time is limited to a minimum period of time and preferably planned during an anticipated turn-around.
